April 23, 2007—Delta airlines offer non-stop flights between McAllen-Miller International Airport in McAllen, Texas, and Los Angeles International Airport. The new service begins June 7, 2007.
Delta is offering customers a special fare of $139* each way based on roundtrip travel.
“McAllen has rapidly transformed from a rural city to a major international trade area that has gained tremendous international recognition,” said Glen Hauenstein, executive vice president – Network Planning and Revenue Management for Delta Air Lines. “It was important for Delta to grow its presence and expand service between these two growing west coast markets and we’re excited to be able to do so.”
The promotion of international and retail trade, tourism and manufacturing in McAllen is among the most successful along the U.S.-Mexico Border.
“As the metropolitan area of McAllen, Texas continues to attract international investment we must be able to move products and people efficiently,” said Keith Patridge, president of the McAllen Economic Development Corporation. “Delta’s new direct service from McAllen to Los Angeles will provide our investment community with an efficient and convenient way of accessing the West Coast and Northern Mexico.”
