American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, today announced it is adding another daily round-trip flight between Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Dubuque Regional Airport in Dubuque, Iowa, beginning April 5. The route operated with 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jets.
"This is excellent news and a testament to Dubuque's economic strength and bright future," said Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa). "Dubuque's community leaders have done a great job of attracting jobs to the area, and now we're seeing that pay off. Stepped up service between Chicago and Dubuque will further help Dubuque's tourism and economic development."
"We're delighted to increase our service from Dubuque to American's cornerstone hub in Chicago," said Gary Foss, Vice President – Planning and Marketing for American's regional network. "Now with four daily nonstop flights, customers from the Tri-State Area will have even more travel options from which to choose and more convenient connections in Chicago to destinations throughout American's vast global network."
"Dubuque has worked hard to support its airport and has put itself in a position to maintain and grow air service to the area," said Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). "This additional flight from American Eagle will provide a great advantage to people traveling in and out of the area, and I appreciate American's willingness to invest in Iowa and the Dubuque Regional Airport."
"Dubuque's recent economic development has been widely recognized as a bright spot and this is just further proof," said Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa). "American Eagle's expanded service to Dubuque will help encourage more companies to do business in Dubuque and is a sure sign that Dubuque is leading the charge as our economy continues to recover."
