Copenhagen Airport is focusing on further development of its mobile platforms and now offers a new Android application designed to give passengers a better overview and a more relaxed travel experience. The app includes relevant information on flight departure and arrival times, a map of the terminals and a facility for booking of parking space at the airport.
Easy to use and very informative
“The two magazines Mobil Magasinet and Android Magasinet feature a large number of apps that are pure waste of time and which in no way justify spending money on a smartphone. But an app such as CPH Airport is a highly efficient tool which makes that all the information I need before, during and after my trip easily available. The app is easy to use and very informative, said Steen Jørgensen, Editor in Chief of Mobil Magasinet and Android Magasinet.
The Android application is an almost true copy of CPH’s iPhone application, which was launched in late July 2010.
A better overview
"Since we launched our iPhone application in the summer of 2010, people have demanded a similar application for Android phones. Our apps have been developed to give passengers a better overview of a better feeling of control at the airport. Moreover, it provides easier access to the parking options at the airport and our attractive offers in the airport shops, said Iben Eiby-Johannesen, Director for Strategy and Market at Copenhagen Airports A/S.
Almost 70,000 people have downloaded the iPhone app since it was launched in July. The app is so far available in three language versions: Danish, English and Swedish.
Services to people “on the move br />The application is called “CPH Airport and can be downloaded for free from the Android Market. Through the app, you can get information on flight departures and arrivals, book your parking space, see a map of the terminals, get information on walking distances to the gates, and submit reviews of shops and eateries.
Copenhagen Airport is increasingly focusing on offering services to customers “on the move for instance people on their way to the airport. If you do not have an Android phone or an iPhone, you can use m.cph.dk, a mini-version of the Copenhagen Airport website designed for mobile phones. The site is designed for easier viewing on small screens such as mobile phones. Ten thousand users visit the site per week.
Both CPH applications have been developed in collaboration with Danish software company Novasa.
“It is very helpful that a player as Copenhagen Airport is now offering such an Android app to a broader audience, as it will make ordinary mobile phone users realise the benefits of using the more sophisticated smartphones, said Steen Jørgensen.
