Oman Air Recruits a team For Cargo department





Oman Air recently recruited a young and enthusiastic team of 10 Omanis. The trainees underwent an extensive training programme on Ramp Handling and Cargo Handling before joining their respective jobs.

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hammier Al Nabhani, Senior Manager Human Resources of Oman Air, said that the Oman Air is very keen to fill in positions with Omani candidates of the right calibre. "With Oman Air marking its expansion programmes, it was imperative to recruit more personnel into the Cargo Department, which is one of the main areas of operations. We conducted interviews and selected 10 young Omanis including 3 ladies whom we thought were capable and eager to be cargo assistants within the Cargo Department. These cargo trainees went through extensive and intensive training programmes that were conducted by Oman Air’s Training Department," Al Nabhani added.

The training programme was devised in accordance with international cargo standards, and carried out by Oman Air’s highly qualified team of well experienced instructors. Oman Air’s Training Department works closely in evaluating the training needs of each operational area and helps to fill those gaps by training and producing highly efficient and capable young Omanis, thereby supporting the Omanisation drive at all levels.

Corporate Communications and Media Department of Oman Air informed that the recruitment of Omanis at various levels and in various departments is a focus area for the Company. The Omani workforce in the Company they said, have excelled and even exceeded the expectation of the management. Now, more Omani youth are coming into the job scene equipped with the right qualification and willingness to show their mettle, which is indeed a desirable situation for any employer. Oman Air they affirmed recognizes this fact through its pro-active nationalisation policy, CC&M affirmed in conclusion.

It is worth to mention that the Ministry of Manpower recently awarded Oman Air with a commemorative plaque in recognition of its Omanisation efforts in an event that was held under the aegis of HE Maqbool Bin Ali Sultan Minister of Commerce and Industry at Al Bustan Palace Hotel.
