Gold Coast Airport win Staff Service award

Gold Coast Airport has two new awards to add to the mantle after being named the Best Regional Airport Australia/Pacific and also taking out the Staff Service Excellence Australia/Pacific award at the Skytrax World Airport Awards in Copenhagen, Denmark yesterday.

Gold Coast Airport Chief Operating Officer Paul Donovan said the double award win is a significant achievement for the airport. “In particular, receiving the Staff Excellence award is just reward for our team, who continually strive to deliver the best possible service to our passengers. “We’d also like to thank our airline partners and associated staff for their continued contribution to the success of Gold Coast Airport.”“On behalf of all our staff at Gold Coast Airport, we are truly honoured to win these awards. To be held in such high esteem by our airline passengers is very humbling and we’d like to thank them for their continued support. “The awards are the result of a lot of hard work and commitment from our dedicated team of very talented people.

The World Airport Awards are based on 11.38 million survey questionnaires completed by over 100 different nationalities of airline passengers in 2010/2011, covering more than 240 airports worldwide.

Mr Donovan said the airport has enjoyed considerable passenger growth in recent years. “As the gateway to Australia’s number one tourist destination, we have designed our facilities and services to attract low cost carriers to service the insatiable demand for the Gold Coast region. “To date, our marketing and product delivery for low cost carriers has been well received with our passenger throughput continuing to grow year-on-year.
