Delta airlines added another route to Latin America and the Caribbean with two new gateways for travel between the United States and two of the hottest destinations in the region. Delta offer direct service between Fort Lauderdale and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic* and between Los Angeles and Belize City, Belize*.

Delta offering a special low fare from Fort Lauderdale to Santo Domingo of $139 one way based on a round-trip purchase for tickets purchased at delta.com or through a travel agent. Travel to Santo Domingo may begin on or after June 7. 2007. Additional taxes/fees/restrictions apply.

With its summer schedule, Delta plans to offer Santo Domingo customers a total of 21 weekly flights – seven to New York-JFK, seven to Atlanta, and seven to Fort Lauderdale, complementing 28 other flights from U.S. gateways to Puerto Plata, Santiago and Punta Cana. Santo Domingo, the second-most populated city in the Antilles region, is located in the south of the country at the shores of the Caribbean Sea, and is the prime driver of the Dominican Republic’s growing popularity as a beachgoer’s paradise.

“Delta continues to be a leader in growth to Latin American and the Caribbean and we are pleased to add two more gateways for customers to reach two of our most popular destinations this summer,” said Bob Cortelyou, vice president – Network Planning. “Our new destinations from Fort Lauderdale and L.A. are the latest in a series of more than a dozen new Caribbean flights that Delta, along with Delta Connection, has announced, added or applied to serve in the last year.”

Meanwhile, with the addition of new flights between Los Angeles and Belize, Delta and Delta Connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines will offer nine weekly flights from Belize City, with daily service to Atlanta (twice on Saturdays) and once weekly to Los Angeles. Belize is a favorite ecotourism destination known for its lush jungles and famous for having the second longest barrier reef in the world.

Service between Los Angeles and Tijuana, the most famous destination along the U.S.-Mexico border, begins June 7 with two daily flights. Zacatecas, Mexico’s fabled “silver city” known for its historic town center featuring magnificent churches, abandoned convents and breathtaking Baroque architecture, will be served with three weekly flights beginning June 8.

Delta’s expansion to Tijuana and Zacatecas is the latest in a series of efforts to enhance service for Hispanic travelers with more services in Spanish and more destinations that connect U.S. Hispanic customers to their favorite Latin destinations. To complement the Spanish language option tool on delta.com, the airline recently introduced its self-service kiosks en espaƱol. Kennedy International Airport and Tel Aviv, effective March 10, 2008*. The flight builds on Delta’s successful launch of nonstop flights between Atlanta and Tel Aviv in 2006 and will position Delta as the only U.S. airline to offer customers nonstop service from two U.S. gateways to Israel.

The daily nonstop service between JFK and Tel Aviv is operated with international widebody aircraft featuring Delta’s refurbished business and economy class products. The Boeing 767-300ER aircraft will fly from New York, complementing Delta’s existing Boeing 777-200ER daily service from Atlanta. On both routes, customers can enjoy Delta’s award-winning BusinessElite service featuring all-leather sleeper seats with 60 inches of legroom, innovative food offerings designed by celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein – including award-winning, original wine selections, and industry-leading, on-demand personal in-seat entertainment boasting more than 20 first-run and popular classic movies, a variety of TV programs, a broad range of music, and a suite of 12 video games. Atlanta to Czech Republic flights on delta

Delta airlines offer international customers nonstop flights between the world’s largest airline hub in Atlanta Georgia and Prague, Czech Republic. The flight is the first of 14 new international routes planned between now and June.

Delta operate the service using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft seating up to 214 passengers and featuring Delta’s refurbished business and economy class service. Customers can enjoy Delta’s award-winning BusinessElite service featuring all-leather sleeper seats with 60 inches of legroom, innovative food offerings designed by celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein -- including award-winning, original wine selections – and industry-leading, on-demand personal in-seat entertainment boasting more than 20 first-run and popular classic movies, a variety of TV programs, a broad range of music, and a suite of 12 video games. Economy class customers also will benefit from new all-leather economy seats, amenity kits, enhanced food offerings and a complimentary cocktail with each meal.

SkyTeam partner CSA Czech Airlines will codeshare with Delta on its Atlanta service, offering customers in the Czech Republic and the United States more opportunities to earn and redeem miles with both airlines’ frequent flyer programs. The new route also offers multiple opportunities for freight forwarders and cargo shippers who can more quickly connect goods between Prague and destinations around the world via Delta’s burgeoning Atlanta hub.

“Flights to Prague mark the first step in another historic summer of international growth for Delta, which will be followed by additional trans-Atlantic, trans-Pacific, Latin and Caribbean service for customers flying from most every Delta gateway,” Hauenstein continued.
